    Because Luffy and Ace do not have the same mother or father, they are not brothers related by blood. Ace’s father is the recently revealed Gol D. Roger and his mother is Portgas D. Rouge. Luffy’s father is Monkey D. Dragon and while his mother is unknown, it cannot be Rouge since she died giving birth to Ace. But since Roger’s request to Luffy’s grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, was to take care of Ace, then Ace would be a sort of step son in Luffy’s family. Luffy also addresses Ace as his brother because they have a close bond. Hope this helps.

    KUMA SENT THE CREW TO DIFFERENT PLACES TO MAKE THEM STRONGER BECAUSE IT CAN’T BE A COINCIDENT THAT MOSTLY EVERYONE IN THE CREW WERE SENT TO ISLANDS RELATIVE TO THEIR ABILITY=

    LUFFY- WAS SENT TO HANCOCKS ISLAND TO LEARN HOW TO CONTROL HIS HIDDEN HAKI. EVERYONE KNOWS HOOW TO USE IT ON THAT ISLAND SO IT WOULDEASY TO TRAIN HIS HAKI. IF HE LEARNED THEN IT WOULD BE EASIER TO BEAT LOGIA TYPE DEVIL FRUIT USERS SUCH AS THE ADMIRALS

    FRANKY- WAS SENT TO A ADVANCED MECHANICAL ISLAND TO LEARN HOW TO UPGRADE HIS WEAPONS ON HIS BODY.

    NAMI- WAS SENT TO A WEATHER ISLAND TO UPGRADE HER WEAPON AND LEARN MORE ABOUT WEATHER.

    ZORO- WAS SENT TO A ISLAND WHICH IN THE MANGA REVEALED THAT THERE WAS A MMYSTERIOUS SWORDSMAN THERE. THIS MAY BE GOOOD TRAINING FOR ZORO.

    USOPP- WAS SENT TO AN ISLAND WHERE THERE WAS MYSTERIOUS PERSON THAT HAD INCREDIBLE AIM WITH A SPEAR AND INCREDIBLE PLANTS THAT HE COULD PROBABLY UPGRADE HIS WEAPONS WITH.

    I DON’T THINK HE COULD HAVE COINCIDENTLY PUT THESE CHARACTERS ON THESE CERTAIN ISLANDS. THIS WILL PREPARE THEM MORE FOR THE FUTURE NEW WORLD.
