Luffy cant beat Aokiji by himself or with Zoro and Sanji and Chopper and Usopp. Aokiji is an Admiral the 2nd (maybe tied with the 2 other admirals) most powerful Marine in the world.

its not weird that he put his hand in the water, Luffy did too some episodes back. remember the first Davy Back Fight? Round 1 was the race and Luffy had his hands in the water to propel the boat :3
